There's a bit of mystery surrounding today's ornament choice...
I can remember it being on our tree even when I was a kid, but I'm not sure where it came from, I think it either came from friends or was purchased at a craft show. I assume that this is a home made ornament because it's so unique, but it wasn't made in our home... of this I'm sure. Why do I like it?
For starters, the colours are very cheerful (those of you who know me know that I'm a big fan of orange), but are really not traditional Christmas colours (looks more like a garden in Spring to tell you the truth).
I'm fascinated by the way the strands are 'woven' around the shape and love the little tassles hanging down from each of the 3 corners and the bottom.
It's the only one that we have and I've never seen anything like it on anyone else's tree.... so it's truly a 'one-of-a-kind'.
The short & sweet.... it's bright, cheerful, intricate, artsy, and one-of-a-kind!
Check back tomorrow for the last of my Monschau ornaments! Don't forget that Monschau's Christmas Market will be open tonight, you can check it out on the webcam (they're 5hrs ahead of us, so 2pm in NB is 7pm in Germany).
