...Remembered with White Doves

Photo Credit: The Canadian PressOn April 12, 1999, ten year-old Jolène Riendeau disappeared. Her body would only be found by authorities 12 years later.
Last Monday, May 13, 2011, she was laid to rest and members of her family released 10 white doves at the conclusion of her funeral; One dove for each year that she enjoyed life here on Earth.
Pictured in the center is Jolène's mother Dolores Soucy, with her father Rene Riendeau immediately to her left, at the moment they released the doves.
So many questions...
- How does one cope with the disappearance of their child?
- How'd her parents manage for 12 years without any news or hint of a resolution?
- How is it that her body, found on dry ground under the Champlain Bridge near to where she disappeared, was not discovered sooner?
- Where is the person that committed this horrific crime and how have they spent the past 12 years?
I don't need to know the answers to all of these questions, and it's doubtful that I'd get them anyway. It is certainly my hope that I'll never have to deal with a similar scenario myself, yet as I think about this family in Montreal Quebec, I can't stop these questions from coming to my mind...
*praying*
Lord Jesus, be with the Riendeau-Soucy family. Give them strength and encouragement like only you can.
